Printable Autumn Activities
I’m loving this fun autumn activity pack for preschoolers. These pages can be used in a wide variety of ways.
Preschool moms can use them as quiet time activities. They are also great for keeping little hands busy while mom reads aloud.
Preschool teachers can use them as transition pages – something to occupy kids as they transition from one activity to another. You can also laminate them, and put them in your centers for kids to use over and over again.
Autumn Activities for Preschool
This little activity pack contains four activities to teach and entertain your little ones.
• Trace and Color – This page is perfect, and can be used in a variety of ways. Kids can use crayons to trace each of the shapes on the page. This is a great way for kids to work on pencil control.
If you have Wikki Stix on hand, kids can use those to trace the images. This is a wonderful fine motor activity for preschoolers.
• Fall I Spy – Children will hunt for various fall-themed objects on the page. They’ll count them and write the number in the box. This page will help kids work on counting and writing numbers while strengthening visual discrimination.
You can make this reusable by laminating the page or slipping it in a dry erase pocket. Kids can also cover the images as they find them in order to track what they’ve counted.
• Color Page – Little ones will love coloring this adorable picture. This is a great way to strengthen fine motor skills as they color the leaves with gorgeous fall colors.
• Fall Patterns – Practice patterning with this page. Kids will read the pattern in each row and then choose which image will finish each of the patterns. They can circle the correct image or cut/paste the image.
PRESCHOOL BOOKS ABOUT FALL
Fill your book basket with a great collection of books about autumn. Most of these books can be found at your local library or used bookstore.
If you have a hard time finding them, you can order them through my Amazon affiliate links by clicking the images below.
Hello, Harvest Moon – While tired farmers and their families are in bed, the harvest moon silently climbs into the sky and starts working its magic. For some, it is the nightly signal to rise and shine. It is time to hunt, to work, or to play in the shadows. For a little girl and her cat, it is an invitation to enjoy the wonders of the night and a last flood of light before the short days of winter set in.
Awesome Autumn – Autumn is awesome! Leaves change color. Animals fly south or get ready to hibernate. People harvest crops and dress up as scary creatures for Halloween. And then there are pickup football games to play, Thanksgiving foods to eat, leaf piles to jump in―all the amazing things that happen as the air turns crisp and cool.
Fall Mixed Up – Fall is all mixed up in this silly book from Bob Raczka! Can you find his mistakes in the words and pictures?
