This preschool boat craft is perfect for your upcoming letter of the week lessons. You can also add it to your transportation and ocean units.
I love focusing on one letter each week. It really helps little ones focus on a specific letter and the sound it makes. It’s a great way to incorporate a variety of themes into one overarching plan.
For instance, for the letter “b”, you could focus on birds, boats, butterflies, bulldozers, and much more! This is a great way to bring some variety into your daily plans.
I love crafting with preschoolers, as well. This letter of the week preschool craft (with printable template) combines learning letters with a fun crafting activity for preschool and kindergarten kiddos.
Preschool Boat Craft
This preschool boat craft is so much fun! It’s simple to put together with a little prep work from mom. It can be added to many different preschool themes throughout the year.
What You’ll Need
• Glue (can use hot glue or white school glue)
• Scissors
• Paper or Cardstock
• Template (download below)
What You’ll Do
After gathering all of your supplies, download the letter B template (below). Print it onto paper or cardstock. I always find cardstock to work better since it’s so sturdy.
Cut out the letter B and trace it onto a sheet of craft foam. Blue craft foam will look like the sky. Cut the letter out.
Download and print the BOAT template (below). Cut it out.
Use the picture below to see which colors I used when tracing and cutting out the boat pieces. These, of course, are only suggestions. Feel free to use whichever colors you’d like.
Now it’s time to assemble the craft. Glue the waves to bottom of the letter B and cut off any excess. Glue the cloud to the top right of the B.
Assemble the boat and glue it on top of the waves. Draw birds in the sky with black marker.
Now, your letter B craft is complete!
