Holiday Hounds Count and Graph Printables

This no-prep count and graph math pack is print and go making it perfect for busy preschool moms and teachers. It is so simple to use, as well. Perfect for your holiday or winter preschool activities.

To complete this activity, show your preschoolers and kindergarteners how to find and count the first image. Count all the spotted dogs with red hats. Write the number in the box under the first column. Continue with the other five images.

When your students have finished the find and count portion of this activity, show them how to graph their results. Encourage your student to color one square for each image they found. I like to have them color each column a different color. It helps them “see” the differences in each column better.

Once the graphing page is complete, ask questions to help your preschoolers compare and analyze the data on the graph. Which dog had the most? Which had the least? How many spotted dogs and poddles are there all together? How man more wiener dogs were there than dogs on sleds?

Variations:

There are several different ways you can use this count and graph activity. To use it as a math center, print one copy of the graphing page and laminate it or slip it in a dry erase pocket. Then, print out a graphing sheet for each student. Let them write the numbers on the counting page with dry erase marker. Then, they can color their graphing page to be turned in.

You can also laminate the graphing page and let students use dry erase markers on it, as well. This is a great way to make the activity reusable for both group and individual use.
