Butterfly Snack Craft
Not only does this activity require minimal materials like plastic bags, pipe cleaners, and cereal or crackers, but it’s also an inexpensive craft that will keep your preschooler engaged.
What You’ll Need
- small plastic zip-top baggies
- pipe cleaners
- small snacks: fruit cereal, fish crackers, mini pretzels, etc.
How to Make Butterfly Snacks
Fill each baggie with snacks, but don’t overfill them. There needs to be a little room in each baggie to wrap the pipe cleaner around it in a bit. Carefully press out all of the air from the bag before sealing it shut.
Divide the snack bag down the middle. Fold the top of the baggie to the back to hide it.
Wrap a colorful pipe cleaner around the middle of the bag. Secure the top of your pipe cleaner to the baggie by twisting it a few times.
To make the antennae, wind the pipe cleaner around a pencil to curl it.
Repeat this over and over again as many times as you need to create enough snacks for your entire class.
