No-Prep Farm Printables
Spring has sprung, and it’s a great time to learn about life on the farm.
After reading a few farm-themed picture books, try some of the fun, hands-on activities and printables I’ve shared below.
Getting Started
To get started, share a fun farm animals video with your preschoolers. This will help set the stage for your upcoming activities.
Create a farm-themed playdough invitation for your preschoolers to use. Provide playdough, plastic animals, and a small plastic barn. Kids can create farm scenes and explore animal tracks with the playdough.
Farm Literacy Activities
Letter tracing pages allow preschoolers to practice letter recognition, beginning sounds, and handwriting practice.
Each page features a farm animal or object, the letter that image begins with, and the name of that image spelled out and used in a sentence.
Kids can color the picture, trace both capital and lowercase letters, the name of the picture, and a “__ is for ___” alphabet sentence. There are letter tracing pages featuring the letters B, C, G, H, F, P, R, and T..
Labeling pages help kids build vocabulary. Kids will label two farm children.
Finally, letter hunts encourage kids to focus on the featured letter. They’ll strengthen visual discrimination skills as they search the grid for each featured letter – uppercase and lowercase. These letter hunts feature the letters B, C, G, H, P, and T.
Farm MATH ACTIVITIES
Counting to ten is an important skill for preschoolers and kindergarteners to work on. Kids will count mud splashes, chickens, and turkey feathers.
Ordering by size is fun with engaging farm graphics. Kids will cut out pictures and glue them in order from largest to smallest or smallest to largest.
There are a shape in this pack. Kids will sort and trace shapes on six different pages.
FINE MOTOR ACTIVITIES
Prewriting skills help kids get ready for handwriting and letter formation. Kids will practice tracing lines from left to right.
For more farm fine motor fun, kids will strengthen scissor skills with several cutting practice pages.
