Farm Color By Numbers

These free preschool printables are a great way to have preschoolers work on number recognition, color identification, and color words.

Grab your box of crayons, print out these pages, and your kids are all set for some farm-themed coloring fun.

This pack includes eight free color by number pages. Your kids will love reading the color code and coloring the picture to reveal a mystery image with a fun farm theme.

Color by numbers offer preschoolers an opportunity to work on a variety of skills. First, of course, is number recognition. By matching the numbers from the color code to the numbers on the picture, kids reinforce their ability to identify numbers.

Color words and color recognition are two more skills preschoolers will work on as they complete each color by number. Kids will identify the color words in the color code, and they’ll use those colors to complete the picture.

Finally, coloring allows preschoolers an opportunity to strengthen fine motor skills. They’ll practice proper pencil grip and motor control which are important for later writing skills.

Teaching Resources

Sensory bins are a great way to let little ones explore new concepts with fun themes. To create a farm sensory bin, add some plastic animals, scoops, and a filler (corn, beans, or colored rice), and your kids can scoop, pour, and sort to their heart’s content.

As you read your child’s favorite farm-themed stories, let them act it out on a large sheet of felt or flannel with a fun Farm Felt Board Set.
