Measurement Games for Preschoolers
One of our favorite measurement games is called “The Scale Game.” This game is perfect for practicing estimating and measuring weight. To play, you will need a scale, some weights (we like to use pennies), and something to weigh (we like to use an empty soda can).
First, have your child estimate the weight of the object. Then, have them weigh the object on the scale and see how close they were to the actual weight. This game is great for helping kids understand estimation and measurement.
Another fun game is “The Measuring Tape Game.” This game is perfect for practicing estimating and measuring length. To play, you will need a measuring tape and something to measure (we like to use a pencil).
First, have your child estimate the length of the object. Then, have them measure the object with the measuring tape and see how close they were to the actual length.
This is another game that is great for helping kids understand estimation and measurement.
