Independence Day Pom Pom Mats

This set of pom pom challenges is perfect for helping preschoolers strengthen fine motor muscles in their hands and fingers.

They will also work on hand-eye coordination, as well, as they pick up and place the pom poms on each of these holiday mats.

Download and print these 4th of July worksheets to create a fun hands-on learning activity for your preschoolers.

These print-and-go printables are perfect for busy preschool moms and teachers like you.

Color Matching

Print and laminate these holiday-themed activity pages and provide your child with a handful of pom poms. Have them match the pom poms to the correct color on the challenge mat.

I find it easiest to work from top to bottom so that the kids don’t bump the pom poms with their hands as they work.

Counting

After your child has covered the entire image, have them count each set of colored pom poms. This is a great way to help them practice counting from 1-30.

Number Formation

Once they’ve counted each pm pom of one color, have them write that number on the line.

If necessary, provide your child with a number line so they can see how to form each number. Or, draw the number lightly with a pencil and have your child trace over it.
