I’ve included a short tutorial that shows you how to color white rice for a sensory bin filler. You can save this rice in a plastic bag or container, and use it over and over again.

Dinosaur Sensory Play

I love being able to construct activities that will engage preschoolers without breaking the bank! This is one of those activities. You should be able to find everything you need at your local Dollar Store.

You might not be able to find the same tray used here, but you can find something similar if you don’t have something at home.

What You’ll Need

What You’ll Do

First, pour two cups of rice into a gallon sized plastic bag.

Next, add 2 tsp of vinegar to the rice.

Then, add 20-30 drops of green food coloring.

Finally, close the bag and mix well with your hands until the rice is evenly colored.

Line a pan with paper towel.

Pour rice onto paper towel, spread evenly, and allow rice to dry.

Once the rice is dry, pour it into a sensory bin or tray. Add small plastic dinosaurs for sensory play.
