With just a few simple supplies you’ve probably got in your craft closet already, preschoolers and kindergarteners can whip up this adorable Christmas tree in no time.

You won’t believe how easy it is to make this pinecone craft. In just a few minutes, you can have a super simple Christmas tree craft to display.

Preschoolers will love searching for pinecones on your next nature walk. If you don’t live near any pine trees, you can purchase pine cones wherever you buy your craft supplies.

To start your craft, have children paint the pinecone green. Set aside to dry. If needed, add another coat of paint and let it dry.

Glue the pom poms around the pinecone. Then, glue a large pom pom on the top of the pinecone. Allow the glue to dry.

Try this Christmas tree craft with your preschoolers. It's perfect for December!

Materials

  • Pine cone
  • Green craft paint
  • Small to medium size sparkly/glitter pom poms (different colors)
  • 1 large pom pom (for the star)
  • Paper plate
  • Small disposable cup

Tools

  • Paintbrush
  • Glue or hot glue gun

Instructions

  1. Set the pine cone on a paper plate.
  2. Pour a small amount of green paint in the cup.
  3. Paint the pine cone green. Set aside to dry. If needed, add
    another coat.
  4. Glue the pom poms around the pine cone. Allow to dry.
  5. Glue the white pom pom on the top of the pine cone. Allow to dry.
  6. Display this holiday season!
