What You’ll Do

Kick off this activity with a read-through of Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano. In the story, Turkey tries to disguise himself so as not to become Thanksgiving dinner.

These color by number worksheets show Turkey in six different disguises – a mermaid, ball player, rock star, and more!

To complete the page, children will color the picture of the turkey using the color code featuring numbers 1-9.

To start, have your child identify the first number and color in the code. Then, they’ll find all of the spaces with that number and color them the same color.

Continue identifying the numbers and the color words in the color code and coloring the picture accordingly.

This color by number worksheet is a great way for preschoolers to work on number recognition, color words, motor skills, and concentration.

If your little one isn’t ready to read the color words, you can color the word with a crayon and have your little one match the color to the correct crayon.

Turkey Facts for Preschoolers
