The life cycle of a pumpkin is fascinating to preschoolers. They’re amazed by the fact that a giant pumpkin can grow from a tiny seed. While you’re teaching about pumpkins, these free preschool printables will make a great addition to your activities.
Not only do these pumpkin life cycle worksheets help little ones review the stages of pumpkin growth, but they are skill builders, too.
Pumpkin Life Cycle Printable
As all plants do, pumpkins start as seeds. These seeds sprout and grow into vines with flowers. The flowers drop off and a green pumpkin grows. As the pumpkin grows, it turns orange.
These no-prep printables are perfect for busy preschool moms and teachers like you. Kids will love learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin with them.
In this pack, you’ll find a couple of different activities. First, there is a maze. Mazes are great skill builders for preschoolers.
When completing mazes, little ones strengthen their logical thinking skills as they decide which turn to take next. They also work on pencil control and strengthen fine motor skills.
Secondly, there is a set of life cycle puzzles. Print these on cardstock and cut them apart. Have students match the life cycle picture with the correct vocabulary word. These self-checking puzzles are a great way to work on life cycle vocabulary as well as critical thinking.
Next in this pack, you’ll find a sequencing page. Kids will cut out the pictures at the bottom of the page, and they’ll glue them into the sequence strips to finish each one. This is a great way to help little ones review the sequence of a pumpkin’s life cycle.
Lastly, there is a handwriting page. Kids will review and trace each of the four stages of the life cycle. This is a great way to help preschool and kindergarten students work on letter formation and beginning reading.
