Paper Plate Pizza Craft
This paper plate pizza craft is perfect for celebrating National Pizza Day on February 9! It’s also great for little ones who love pizza.
My grandson (and everyone else in the house) loves pizza! I can’t wait to share this fun paper plate craft with him.
You can use this craft if your preschoolers are learning about food, studying the letter P, or if pizza is their favorite food.
It also goes well with the picture books I’ve shared below.
Paper Plate Pizza Craft
This craft is simple, and it allows preschoolers to work on a variety of motor skills. They’ll practice cutting, bending chenille stems, and gluing.
What You’ll Need
- Disposable Paper Plate
- Red and Brown Tissue Paper
- Red Felt
- Green Pipe Cleaners
- Small Black Poms
- Yellow Yarn
- White Paper
- Elmer’s Glue or Glue Stick
What You’ll Do
Cut squares and rectangles out of the red tissue paper. Glue them on the paper plate, make sure to overlap so you see no white.
Don’t worry about the edge that will be covered in the next step.
Cut 2-3 Strips from the brown tissue paper and glue around the edge. This will represent the crust.
Optional step: Before toppings are added, cut a piece of pizza out of the paper plate. It’ll be easier now then later once everything is on.
Take the green pipe cleaner and cut into thirds. Take one piece and twist close, then bend to make an irregular shape. This will represent green peppers.
Next, cut small pieces of yarn to present the cheese. Then with the red felt, cut out 4-5 circles out to represent the pepperoni.
Lastly, cut 4-5 mushrooms out of the white paper.
Glue all the ingredients on the pizza. If you cut out a slice in step 3, don’t forget to glue ingredients on that piece too. Let dry.
Have fun making your very own Pizza!
