The best thing about these free preschool printables is that they double as an educational tool. Your kids will have so much fun playing the games, they won’t even realize they’re working on important skills.

Dinosaur Matching Game

Not only are these dinosaur matching cards and activity sheets easy to prepare, but they will help your kids work on their visual discrimination skills.

To start, print the matching pages on cardstock. I recommend laminating them for durability to make these preschool activity pages reusable. Kids can draw lines to match the dinosaurs with dry erase markers.

Print the memory matching game pages on one-sided scrapbook paper. This will prevent the images from showing through.

This dinosaur count and graph activity is a great way for preschoolers to practice counting and graphing skills any time of the year.

To use the shadow matching activity pages, have your child draw a line from the colored image in the top row to its shadow match in the bottom row.

If you’ve laminated the pages, kids can use dry erase markers to draw the lines. If not, just use pencil or marker to match the dinosaurs.

To play the memory matching game, print the pages on one-sided patterned paper. Cut the cards apart, and lay them facedown on the table.

Have preschoolers turn over two cards at a time. If the cards match, the kids keep the match and take another turn. If they cards don’t match, the turn the cards back over and their turn ends.

Play until all cards have been matched.

Variations

Preschool matching games are a great way to work on visual discrimination with little ones. They have to pay close attention to detail to make matches.

One way you can alter the matching game for younger children is to leave the cards face up. Have kids choose a card and search for its match. Play alternates until all cards have been matched. There is no “winner” in this version.
