C is for Cupcake Preschool Craft
This C is for Cupcake preschool craft is perfect for your letter of the week lesson plans. It also pairs well with If You Give a Cat a Cupcake!
When you focus on one letter each week, you’re able to introduce your preschooler to a wide variety of themes under one simple lesson plan. It makes it easy to focus on letter recognition and letter sounds.
While studying the letter “c”, you can focus on cats, cars, caterpillars, and cupcakes. This preschool cupcake craft is simple to create, and it goes well with your “C is for…” unit.
Crafting with preschoolers is so much fun. This letter of the week preschool craft includes a free printable template. It combines learning letters with a fun activity for preschool and kindergarten students.

Template (download below)
What You’ll Do
After gathering all of the necessary craft supplies, you will need to download the letter C template (below). Print it onto printer paper or cardstock. I like to print on cardstock, because it’s sturdier than printer paper.
Cut out the letter C template, and then trace it onto the craft foam. Any color craft foam will work. You could also use construction paper if you’d prefer.
Download and print the CUPCAKE template – located below. Cut it out.
Trace the cupcake template onto craft foam or construction paper. Cut it out. I made two cupcakes, but you could choose to just do one.
Cut the icing piece of the cupcake template out. Trace it onto a different color of craft foam or paper, and cut it out.
Now it’s time to assemble your cupcakes. Glue the icing portion onto the cupcake. Use a black marker to add stripes to the cupcake liner.
Cut two circles from red craft foam and glue the “cherries” on top of the cupcake icing.
Add detail to the cherries with white craft foam and brown “stems”.
Glue the cupcakes to your Letter C!
