Watercolor Turkey Craft
You don’t need many things to get this Thanksgiving paper plate craft started! With just a few simple supplies, your young kids will have a lot of fun creating this easy paper plate turkey craft to display this holiday season.
Supplies
- 1 small paper plate
- 1 coffee filter
- watercolor paints
- scissors
- glue sticks
- googly eyes
- brown craft paint
Directions
Cut a paper plate in half. Paint one half of the paper plate brown, and set it aside to dry. Save the other half for later. You’ll need it for the end of this wonderful paper plate turkey craft.
Using watercolors, paint a coffee filter. The coffee filter will absorb the water easily so you won’t need a lot! Allow it to dry.
The best part about this step is that each coffee filter will be unique because of the way the colors blend on the coffee filter.
Once the coffee filter is dry, cut in half and glue to the brown paper plate.
From the other half of the paper plate, cut out a circle for the turkey’s head and paint it brown.
Now, cut out a small triangle beak and a wavy wattle from the paper plate scraps.
Paint the turkey’s beak orange and red wattle.
Once all the pieces are dry, assemble the turkey’s face. Glue on two google eyes, the beak and wattle.
Now your adorable turkey craft is complete! Your little ones will enjoy putting these turkeys on display. They’d even make great place cards for your Thanksgiving dinner table.
