Thanksgiving Tic Tac Toe
Children as young as three can learn to play tic tac toe. The older your child is, the easier it will be to follow the rules of the game on their own.
How to Play Tic Tac Toe
Print the game boards and cards. You can laminate them for durability. Cut the tic tac toe cards away from the game board and separate the cards into two piles with matching graphics.
Decide which player will be “X” and which one will be “O”. Players will take turns putting their cards on the board in an empty square.
The first player to get three in a row (up, down, across, or diagonal) is the winner.
If all nine squares are full and there is no winner, the game ends in a tie.
What can kids learn?
Kids learn a lot of different skills when they play games. With tic tac toe, kids learn to take turns. They strengthen their logic skills as they choose which square to place their card in.
Another Thing
If you’d like to make this game portable, you can put velcro dots on each square in the game board as well as on the back of each card.
Store the game pieces in a plastic bag or zipper pouch, and you can take it with you on the go. It’s perfect for waiting at a restaurant or doctor’s office. Kids can also play it in the car on your next road trip.
