Easter Snack for Kids: Jelly Bean Tic Tac Toe

You will be the coolest mom in your play group when you bring this fun snack to your next spring or Easter playdate!

Kids love to play with their food, and this Easter snack gives them permission to do just that! You can make up the “game boards” ahead of time or let your preschoolers make their own.

Either way, they’ll have fun while creating, playing with, and then eating this Easter Jelly Bean Tic Tac Toe snack! It’s a snack and a craft all in one.

Easter Snack: Jelly Bean Tic Tac Toe

This Jelly Bean Tic Tac Toe snack is easy enough to make that your preschoolers can give you a hand. Actually, once the candy melts have cooled a little, they may be able to make them all on their own.

Then, they’ll have fun playing game after game of Tic Tac Toe on their graham cracker game board. If they don’t eat it first, that is.

What You’ll Need

Graham Crackers, 6 squaresGraham Crackers, 6 squaresCandy Melts, spring colorsCandy Melts, spring colorsJelly BeansJelly BeansEaster M&MsEaster M&Ms

Note: Your local grocery store may have Candy Melts in a drizzle pouch which will make this project a little easier. With a drizzle pouch, you won’t have to transfer your melted chocolates to another container (squeeze bottle or ziploc baggie) to decorate your snacks.

Directions

Heat the candy melt pouches according to package directions. If you use the candy pouches, you can just snip a corner and squeeze. If not, you’ll need to transfer the melted chocolate to a ziploc bag and snip a corner to squeeze.

Using your candy pouches, pipe a tic tac toe grid on each graham cracker square.

Let set for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.

These little game boards are ready to use. Grab a friend, take some candy pieces and start a game. You win if you get three in a row!!

Get your printables.

I always love creating a new printable for my readers. This one is no exception. In this preschool mini pack, you’ll find the following activities:

  • Counting practice: Students will count a variety of items at the top of the page, and then they’ll circle the correct number in each row.
  • Letter hunt: Students will search for all of the letters E and e in the grid.
  • Puzzle: When the pieces are put together properly, the student will spell the word “recycle.”
  • Counting: Students will count each set of items. Then, they’ll cut/paste the correct number for each set.
  • Label it: Students will identify each image on the page. Then, they will cut/paste the correct label under each one.
  • Beginning sounds: Students will identify each image on the page. They’ll cut out each one, and paste it atop its beginning sound.
  • Trace the letters: Students will trace the letter in each row.
  • Word cards: These cards can be used to identify the images in previous activities. You can print two sheets, and use them for a matching game. Older students may want to use them as a word bank for creative writing.

Below, I’ve rounded up an amazing collection of fun preschool science activities and experiments perfect for this time of year. Explore seeds, butterflies, tadpoles, and more. What will you explore first?

Kids will love planting their own seeds. They love watching them sprout and knowing they had a part in helping something grow.

Host an Egg Drop Challenge (with free printables) for a fun STEM activity.

If your preschoolers want to learn more than seeds, here’s a fun Botany Lesson that covers the parts of a flower.

Spring is a great time to learn about life cycles. You could start with chickens and ladybugs.

If you have space in your yard, you could plant a butterfly garden.

On your next nature walk, let your little ones go on a caterpillar hunt.

Your littlest learners will love exploring this spring sensory bag.

This is a fun craft to teach your little ones about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Easy Fingerprint Flowers Art Project for Preschoolers

Easy Fingerprint Flowers

What You Need:
• Pom poms
• Popsicle Sticks
• Washable Paint
• Construction Paper

Use the glue to paste the popsicle sticks to the construction paper for the flower stems. You could use the pre-colored popsicles sticks instead of plain if you’d like.

Place a dap of glue just above each popsicle stick and stick a pom pom on it for the center of the flower.

10 Easy Bird Feeders Preschoolers Can Make

Now that spring is just around the corner, the leaves are budding on our backyard trees. This means we are beginning to get more and more backyard visitors. We like to entice them to visit by keeping our bird feeders stocked with bird seed all spring.

But, sometimes, we like to make our own bird feeders. We decided to use what we had on hand. We stockpiled empty toilet paper tubes so we could turn them into bird feeders.

Now that spring is just around the corner, the leaves are budding on our backyard trees. This means we are beginning to get more and more backyard visitors. We like to entice them to visit by keeping our bird feeders stocked with bird seed all spring. | homeschoolpreschool.net

Easy Bird Feeders

Gather your supplies, and get started. All you’ll need is empty toilet paper tubes, string/twine/pipe cleaners to hang them, peanut butter, and bird seed.

1 Bird Feeder Supplies

Preschoolers can do most of this project on their own. Using an icing spreader or butter knife, let them coat the outside of a tube with peanut butter.

2 With Peanut Butter

Next, roll the coated tubes in a shallow dish full of bird seed. Shake off the excess seeds. This part can get messy so you may want to do it on the patio or deck.

Tie the twine/string/pipe cleaners through the tube, and hang it on a nearby tree. We like to put some in our front trees to see while we’re homeschooling. Then, we put some in our back trees to see while we eat in the kitchen.
