How to Use This Printable

The first thing I did was cut out enough bugs for each letter in her name. Then I helped Grace color the leaf and bugs.

As we were doing that we talked about letters and went over the letters in her name. While we were talking I wrote her name on the I’m a Little Buggy printable.

Then, I let her play with the bugs for a few minutes before we got started. Sometimes Grace really wants to play, and that’s totally okay.

She still only 4, and playing is so important. I find that if I let her play for a few minutes with the activity before we actually start working, she is more likely to finish the activity and stay engaged.

Then I told her it was her job to place the bugs on the leaf to spell her name. As she was doing this we went over each letter again.
