Strawberry Letter Identification Cards

To prep this activity, all you need to do is print and laminate the pages and cut them apart. That’s it!

Then, gather some dry erase markers or small counters (I like strawberry mini erasers or red gems). You’re all set for some early literacy fun.

Letter Recognition Fun

This pack includes 52 letter identification cards – one for each uppercase and lowercase letter. Kids will choose a card and identify the featured letter on each one. Then, they’ll look for the matching letters in the circles.

They can use a dry erase marker to fill in the circles, or they can cover the letters with a gem or mini-eraser. Each card has five matching letters.

Visual Discrimination

This strawberry alphabet activity is a great tool for working on visual discrimination with your preschoolers. The letters featured on each card are pretty similar. For instance, the “B” card features B, P, D, and R.

Kids will really have to look closely to identify the proper letter among letters that look similar thus strengthening their visual discrimination skills.

Fine Motor Fun

The alphabet cards are perfect for building fine motor skills, as well. When kids pick up a gem or eraser to cover the featured letters, they’ll strengthen their pincer grasp.

You could also have kids pick up the gems with tongs which works a different set of muscles in their hands.
