Download and print these pumpkin sentence sequencing worksheets this fall. Kindergarteners can practice handwriting and sequencing together.

Add these sequencing activities to your literacy centers, and your kids will work on handwriting, sequencing, storytelling, and coloring in one amazing activity!

These free preschool printables are perfect for both classroom and personal use this fall, October, and Halloween seasons.

Pumpkin Sentence Sequencing Worksheets

To start, print out the sentence sequencing pages on regular printer paper. You can staple them together to make a book, or you can give your child one page at a time.

If you’d like to make these pages reusable, slip each one in a dry-erase pocket (I love these!) and let your kids use dry erase markers to write the sentences.

These “How to Carve a Pumpkin” story sequencing activities allow kids to focus on each step of the task separately. There are several different ways you can present and use them.

For younger children, I would present the pages in order from beginning to end. Older children should be able to put a jumbled stack of pages in sequential order on their own.

They should be able to do this by looking at the pictures even if they can’t yet read the sentences.

To use the pages, have kids read the first sentence on each page. If your kids aren’t reading yet, read the sentence to them pointing to each word so they can follow along.

Next, have kids trace the second sentence. This will help them practice proper letter formation as well as tracking from left to right.

Finally, if your kids are ready, have them copy the sentence onto the blank lines at the bottom of the page. This is a great way to help them develop hand-eye coordination as they look at the sentence at the top of the page and copy it to the bottom.

Once all of the pages are complete, help your child bind them into a book. Then, have them “read” the book to friends and family.
