The Fourth of July is just around the corner. Take some time this month to teach your kids the Pledge of Allegiance. The printable pack I’ve created (and am sharing below) will be a great resource to have on hand as you do.

Start with the poster that shows the entire Pledge of Allegiance. Then, let them complete the cut and paste pages (full page or mini book) to practice.

Pledge of Allegiance Words Printable

Start by sharing the Pledge of Allegiance words printable with your kids. Read the Pledge to them. Point to each word as you read it. If you need help defining the words in a way they’ll understand, print out the Pledge of Allegiance worksheets I created last year.

See if they can recite the pledge with Ms. Tracy…

Afterward, you can have them work through one or both of the cut and paste activities in the activity pack I’ve shared below.

Pledge of Allegiance Cut-and-Paste Page

After practicing the Pledge of Allegiance and reciting it with the video above, kids can enjoy a one-page cut and paste activity.

They can color the title and patriotic kid at the top of the page. Then, cut out the word boxes at the bottom of the page.

If necessary, go over the words with them to be sure they know what each one is. Then, have them recite the Pledge of Allegiance as they search for the words that fill each box.

I suggest having them place all the words on the page before glueing them down. They can either check their work against the Pledge of Allegiance poster page, or you can check their work. Once the words are in the proper order, let your kids glue them down.

Pledge of Allegiance Mini Book

The second activity in this pack is a Pledge of Allegiance mini book. Kids can color the pages in this book if they’d like. The last page contains a word bank for kids to cut and paste on the pages of the book.

Each page contains a portion of the song as well as patriotic images that correspond to the message. If necessary, go over the words with them to be sure they know what each one is. Then, have them recite the Pledge of Allegiance as they search for the words that fill each box.

As with the one-page cut-and-paste activity above, I suggest spreading out the mini book pages and having kids place the words in the boxes before gluing them down.

Either you check their work, or let them check it against the poster with the entire Pledge on it. Once you’ve confirmed the words are placed appropriately, let your kids glue them down.

Now, they have a book that they can “read” to loved ones to show that they know the Pledge of Allegiance.
