Pets Color By Number Printable
I’ve never met a child who didn’t love animals and who didn’t want one (or more) of their own.
We’ve had dogs in my home as long as I can remember. Over the years, we’ve also owned cats, hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, a rabbit, and rats.
If you teach a pet theme in your preschool, don’t miss this fun math activity for little ones.
These color by number pages are a fun way to practice number recognition through ten. Kids will also work on color words for all colors of the rainbow plus black, brown, grey, and pink.
Getting Started
To get started with a fun pet theme for preschool, start by printing out these color by number pages. Grab some crayons or colored pencils, and you’re all set!
Watch a video about pets. This YouTube video about pets introduces kids to a variety of pets and the sounds each animal makes. It’s got a catchy tune that kids will enjoy.
You can also stock your shelves with a wide variety of pet books for preschoolers. Choose a classic or find a new favorite!
Work on number recognition with these pages. Kids will identify the number in the color code, find the corresponding numbers on the mystery picture, and color them according to the code.
These pages are a great way to have little ones work on color words, as well. They’ll read the color words beside each number to determine which color to use in each space.
If your little ones aren’t quite ready to read color words, you can color those color words. Then, your kids can use those as clues to decide which crayon to use.
