Free ocean coloring pages for preschoolers! Keep kids occupied this summer with a fun ocean-themed activity pack with coloring pages and games!
Add these ocean-themed summer printables to your activity arsenal! Pull them out to supplement your ocean theme or to keep kids occupied on a hot summer afternoon. They are also great when added to your road trip activities.
The best thing about these coloring pages is that they double as an educational activity. Your kids won’t even realize they’re learning.
Ocean Coloring Pages for Preschoolers
Not only are these free preschool printables easy to bind together for a portable summer activity, but they can help your kids work on some basic reading and visual discrimination skills.
To start, print out the coloring pages on regular printer paper. You can pop them in a skinny binder, or you can give your child one page at a time.
Next, print out the flashcards and memory matching cards. I recommend printing the flashcards on cardstock and laminating them for durability.
Print the memory matching game on one-sided printed paper. You can usually find these papers in the scrapbook aisle at your local craft store. They’re printed on one side and white on the other. The printed paper helps kids not be able to see through the memory cards.
I love these ocean animal coloring pages. I can’t pick just one. What I love even more is that you can sneak in a little learning with these pages.
Each coloring page has a word naming each ocean animal. This gives kids a look at the fact that letters make up words.
You can talk about beginning sounds and work on letter recognition, as well. Call out a letter and see if you child can find it on the page.
Have them say the name of the ocean animal they’re coloring. Focus on its beginning sound, and have them find the letter that makes that sound.
Older preschoolers might be ready to learn the difference between vowels and consonants. Have them color the vowels one color and consonants another.
