A free preschool activity calendar for January! Celebrate holidays and special days with books, printables, and hands-on activities for little ones.

Can you believe a brand new year is just a few days away? I can’t, either! With the beginning of January comes the start of a brand new series here on the blog. This year, I will be creating an activity calendar designed specifically for your toddlers and preschoolers.

A free preschool activity calendar for January! Celebrate holidays and special days with books, printables, and hands-on activities for little ones.

Each month, the activities will feature seasonal activities as well as fun learning opportunities. I’ll also highlight monthly obscure (and not so obscure) holidays for you to celebrate with your little ones.

Preschool Activity Calendar: January

To start, print out the calendar. Tape it to your refrigerator, or hang it up in the playroom. Then, each day, check the calendar for a new activity. If there is no activity listed, let your child choose a fun activity to do.

Here are some links and ideas to help you complete the activities on January’s preschool activity calendar:

January 5: National Bird Day ~ This past summer, I created a bird unit study that would be perfect to explore on this day. Explore the hands-on activities, choose a book from the list, and be sure to print out the printable I created.

January 10: Snowflake Tortillas ~ Kids will have a blast turning ordinary tortillas into edible snowflakes!

January 15: National Hat Day ~ Today is the perfect day to read Caps for Sale to your preschoolers while you both wear your favorite hats!
