Memory matching games are a great way for preschoolers and young learners to strengthen important skills. These types of games help preschoolers build their memory skills. When the game includes images that are similar, as this one does, it also helps strengthen visual discrimination skills.

So, your preschoolers will be building important foundations while playing a super fun game this holiday season! It’s a win-win for everyone.

Christmas Memory Game

To prepare this fun Christmas memory game, you will need to print two sets of cards. There are 36 Christmas images included in this game. Kids will have a blast matching images of Rudolph, Santa Claus, candy canes, hot chocolate, and more.

You can choose to print out just a few or print them all. I like to print the cards for this printable Christmas memory game on colored scrapbook paper or card stock that is white on one side and printed on the other. This keeps the images from showing through regular printer paper.

Lay out the cards in rows just like in the classic game of Memory we all played as kids. You choose how many rows based on your child’s abilities.

Players will take turns flipping over two cards at a time looking for a matching pair. If the Christmas pictures match, the player keeps the cards and takes another turn. If the cards don’t match, the player’s turn ends and it’s the next person’s turn.

Play continues until all of the cards have been matched. The player with the most matches at the end is declared the winner.

Fun Christmas Crafts

After completing this fun new game, add a little extra holiday cheer to your home with these fun and creative Christmas crafts for kids. Simple, these projects are a great way to keep little hands busy during the holiday season.

Handprint Christmas Tree: This easy craft requires just green construction paper, glue, and colorful pom poms. Have your child trace their hand on the paper and cut out multiple copies. Arrange them in a tree shape and add pom poms as ornaments.

Paper Plate Santa Claus: With a paper plate, cotton balls, and paint, you can create a cute Santa decoration. Paint the bottom half of the plate red for Santa’s suit, the top half peach for his face, and add cotton balls for his beard and hat trim.

Pasta Snowflakes: With some dry pasta, glue, and white paint, you can create beautiful snowflake ornaments. Glue the pasta into a snowflake design, let it dry, and then paint it white. Add glitter for a touch of sparkle!

Remember, the most important part of these crafts is spending time together and making memories.
