Apple Printable

Strengthen motor skills while learning shapes with this preschool apple printable. Kids will love using dot markers to make eight fun shapes!

Building fine motor skills is crucial in the preschool years. The small muscles in the hand must be strong to master handwriting, grasping, pinching, and more.

Using dot markers to fill in the circles on these preschool shape worksheets is the perfect way to strengthen those muscles this fall!

These free preschool printables work well within several of your preschool themes. If you are focusing on apples this fall, be sure to add these pages to your math centers.

They also work well within a Letter Aa theme, as well as a general shape theme.

Apple Printable

Whether you’re teaching your preschoolers about apples or you’re just looking for a fun way to practice shape recognition, these worksheets are just what you need!

Because they’re print-and-go, they’re perfect for busy preschool moms and teachers like you.

Not only do these worksheets focus on shape recognition and fine motor skills, they also address hand-eye coordination as your preschoolers aim their dot markers for each individual circle that forms the shapes.

You can also point out the parts of an apple using the apple image on each page.

Using The Apple Worksheets

To use these apple worksheets, print them out on printer paper or cardstock. Provide your preschooler with a set of dot markers. You can use red, yellow, and green (the colors of apples), or you can let them use their favorite color.

Have your child name each shape and trace it with their finger. Now, have them use the dot marker to fill in the circles that form each shape.

Toddlers can just dot the circles randomly, but preschoolers should follow the proper formation of each shape.

Finally, you can have your child trace or color the shapes on the outside edges of each page. If they’d like, they can turn the shapes into everyday objects such as a sun (circle), window (square), or a slice of pizza (triangle).

Variations:

There are a variety of ways your preschoolers can complete these pages. Instead of using dot markers to complete the pages, they can color the circles or cover them with clear gems or mini erasers.

They can also fill each circle with pom poms or playdoh balls. If they use playdough balls, they can go back around and smoosh the balls adding another fun motor skills activity.

You can use these pages to practice building patterns, if you’d like. Have them use two colors to form an AB pattern around each shape or three colors for an ABC pattern.
