Alphabet Writing Cards

These low-prep alphabet writing cards are perfect for beginning writers and readers. Just print, laminate, cut and go!

You can hole punch the top left corner and add a binder ring to clip them together. The ring opens to allow the cards to be removed, if necessary. It also keeps the cards together if you wish to use them on the go.

Handwriting

The most obvious way to use these cards is for handwriting practice. Have your preschooler use a dry erase marker to trace each letter on the card. They can erase them with a tissue or small piece of felt to wipe them clean and use them over and over again.

Letter Matching

If you have letter beads, felt letters, or alphabet magnets, put them in a bowl. Spread the alphabet cards out, and have your child sort the items in the bowl. Lay each letter bead/magnet on the matching card.

ABC Order

Mix up the letter cards. Have your child put them in alphabetical order. Write the alphabet out on a strip of paper if they need a reference.

Beginning Sounds

The images on the alphabet writing cards can be used to help your kids practice beginning sounds. A is for ant. B is for banana. Have them “read” the cards focusing on the beginning sound of each image.
