To Play

Figure out how many rhymes you want to work on at once. Younger preschoolers may need to focus on 3-5 rhymes at a time. Older preschoolers and kindergarteners can work with all of them at once.

Spread the pieces face up on a flat surface – a table or the floor will do. Have your child choose a robot card, and then search through the remaining cards for its match.

Continue in this manner until all the matches are found.

Variation

Once your children have mastered these rhyming cards face up, turn them over for a fun memory-matching game. Have kids take turns choosing two cards at a time looking for a match. If the cards match, the kids keep them and take another turn. If they don’t match, turn them back over and their turn ends.
